We all know how things get started concerning information, and that certainly applies to health and fitness facts and myths. Myths are born when we hear something about a good tip even if we don't have the whole story and we go and tell the next person. Maybe they even didn't hear it right. But they innocently tell something they know, and another myth is born, again.

It's a fact that we are more inclined to believe what we are hearing if it is appearing to come from a position of authority or someone who appears to know what they are talking about. If you receive an information that isn't entirely correct it can be dangerous. We will talk about some of the worst fitness and health facts and rumors.

A myth that is often discussed in the gym is the untruth (or partial untruth) that your metabolism will get a boost from aerobic exercise that can last for hours. While that is a true statement, there is a caveat attached to it. The amount of calories you will burn beyond the workout will not be what you will be expecting. This happens as a result of the metabolic rate not being as significant after the workout as many claim it should be. The increases are not significant enough to make a difference really.

It's widely known that exercise can increase your energy levels. This benefit of regular exercise is true. People report feeling energized all day when they exercise in the morning. The increased energy is partially caused by increased blood circulation. As your circulation is improved, your cells receive more oxygen. Another bonus is your strength and stamina is improved with regular exercise. You will naturally feel like you have more energy if you have more stamina.

Fitness exercises are perfect for mental acuity as well. A higher level of performance and brain power is what we are talking about. Research has shown that having a regular bike tour exercise has a great effect on blood circulation. This is also good for the brain, you will also notice increased serotonin levels in the brain. The clarity of your brain is another effect of this increased level of serotonin. We think that is pretty fascinating and certainly a good thing. It's important for you to take the time to research everything in order to be able to clearly discern fact from fiction. For your own sanity and interest, do this regularly. Before you go out half cocked and exert the energy and time necessary for a change in lifestyle you need to know that you are doing it right. The benefits you will reap are worth the extra effort to do the research.
