Say Goodbye to Annoying Baby Fat

By Dorthy Weatherbush

It is the most exciting time in your life. The nurse hands you your newborn son or daughter only minutes after they are born. You heart races and you are filled with all kinds of emotions. You are speechless until that is you look in the mirror and realize that your pre baby body is no more.

The key is not to feel bad about it. It will take a good amount of time to shed those unwanted pounds. The truth is that you did not gain the weight overnight and you certainly will not lose it overnight.

Given the right amount of nutrition and exercise, combined with an appropriate time frame, you can shed that unwanted baby weight faster than you think. Whether this takes a few weeks to a few months depends on your commitment to the process. Don't expect overnight success although some women do achieve this.

They make other women either green with envy or close to tears. Instead of letting it bother you though, be proactive. Some women's genes are just like that, lucky them. By becoming proactive, you can use your energy that you would use being upset about it and put it to better use.

Never forget that your first priority is to nourish and care for your little angle. Dieting too soon after giving birth can do harm to both you and the baby. Watch what you eat and maintain a healthy diet.

Want a surefire way to burn 500 calories a day without ever leaving the bed? If so, then you will want to give breastfeeding a try. According to published reports, women burn an average of 500 calories by simply performing this natural act. Imagine how healthy your baby will be and how thin you'll look if you breastfed.

Drinking water during this time period is also crucial. Studies suggest that between 8 and 10 large bottles of water should be consumed each day. The best part is that the water keep you hydrated and clear out any toxins or poisons you may have inhaled or ingested.

After a few weeks, you can start implementing some light exercises in to your day. I do mean light. If you feel at all uncomfortable, cut back for a few days and try it again. You can start out with some light aerobic exercises and stretches.

The key is to start slowly and work yourself up to a full routine. Remember to take it easy. There should be nothing you see on television that you are trying. Many of those routines are far too strenuous. Your body will let you know what it can handle.

Getting rid of baby fat is not the easiest thing in the world. In fact it may appear that it is the hardest. Never forget that maintaining a healthy weight is more about lifestyle. Do not make the mistake of treating your weight loss goal as an event. To adequately control your weight, make simple lifestyle changes that will have tremendous long term positive effects.
